~~~ What is RangerZ? ~~~
Ranger™  is a highly configurable strategy-building framework. Its developer, Robert Pardo, is widely known as a pioneer of automated trading and the inventor of Walk-Forward Analysis, a methodology that has become the standard of optimizing trading strategies. Over the course of his career, Pardo developed trading systems for major institutions and trading firms. Ranger builds on that experience and can be seen as the culmination of Pardo’s decades of research, testing, and practical trading expertise.
The name 'Ranger' is derived from Donchian's classic 'range breakout' approach. Ranger starts with this and goes far beyond it with proprietary trend filters, volatility filters, entry filters, different order types, and a versatile set of exit and position-management rules. By combining different entry methods, indicators and filters in various ways, Ranger can build thousands of uncorrelated strategies in trend  agnostic, counter trend, trend neutral, and trend following trading modes - for CFDs, ETFs, futures, crypto, and stocks on intraday and daily time frames.
 RangerZ is the Ranger implementation in the C++ programming language. Its complete source code is available for modifying or studying the system. While the original Ranger runs on the TradeStation™ platform, RangerZ runs on the Zorro platform. It combines the best of both worlds: the flexibility and proven performance of Ranger with the speed and versatility of Zorro. Trading logic, strategy components, indicators, parameters, and variables are identical in Ranger and RangerZ. But there are several differences:
- RangerZ was written in C++. Backtests and optimizations run multiple times faster.
- RangerZ can trade simultaneously with multiple brokers, strategies, markets, and time frames.
- RangerZ supports all brokers, exchanges, and price sources for which an API plugin is available.
- RangerZ includes the Evaluation Shell, an open evaluation and analysis framework.
- RangerZ comes with a basic portfolio of 11 top strategies, and can be immediately traded.
 RangerZ basic portfolio equity curve, trading DJI, S&P500, DAX, Gold, and Bitcoin on a standard CFD account with FXCM™.
Ranger strategy portfolios have been consistently profitable. For details and past performance, please see Robert Pardo's Ranger page and the Ranger Alpha page. Note that Pardo's Ranger portfolios were put together with a different process, contain different strategies, and yield different equity curves than RangerZ strategy portfolios. About the RangerZ implementation, please see https://financial-hacker.com/implementing-robert-pardos-ranger-system.
RangerZ comes with an example asset list and a basic portfolio of strategies for indexes, commodities, and bitcoin. Assets lists and portfolios for other markets can be freely created and added by the user. Any asset can be simultaneously traded on 60 minutes, 4 hours, and daily time frames.
Please note: RangerZ is maintained by oP group Germany. Technical support, updates, and future improvements are provided by us, not by Robert Pardo. For creating portfolios of robust strategies, we have not replicated Pardo's RangerMaker™ software, but used a new process with the new Evaluation Shell. RangerZ portfolios are therefore NOT created with RangerMaker and its process (formerly named "The Pardo Proprietary Development Process" and now "Excalibur Development Process"), which was used for the original Ranger strategy portfolios that Pardo & Company have created. The Evaluation Shell is a product by oP group Germany and in no way endorsed, reviewed, or approved by Robert Pardo or Pardo & Company.
